David E.'s Story
Life
Mr. Burch has a long standing commitment to education and his community. As a member of WSKG's Board of Trustees, he champions the local public radio and television station's digital conversion initiatives. He further extends his community involvement as president of his local chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Mr. Burch is also a sport enthusiast. After a high school and college football career, he began his semipro football career with the Triple Cities Jets of Binghamton, New York in 1970 and was a five-time All Empire Football League (EFL) player at defensive end and linebacker. College
Mr. Burch, a native of Richmond, VA, holds a B.S. Math - Physics degree from Johnson C. Smith University, in Charlotte, NC; graduated in 1969. While at JC Smith played football as a member of the Golden Bulls Football team, received all league honors and received NFL tryouts with the NY Giants and NY Jets upon graduation.
Pledged into Rho Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity where he served as Basileus and Vice Basileus. Mr. Burch was one of the founders of Omega Psi Phiâs Kappa Nu Chapter in Binghamton, NY and is currently a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Workplace
David E. Burch retired Program Manager with Lockheed Martin System Integration. Mr. Burch ended his career as one of a select group of Lockheed employees as a Master Black Belt trained in Lean & Six Sigma Processed. As a certified Black Belt, Mr. Burch was responsible for mentoring of Green Belts, Black Belts and coordinating business area direction to meet LM21 Corporate objectives.
Mr. Burch is currently Marketing Director of Greater Binghamton SCOREâs Chapter using his skills to assist nonprofits and small businesses. Linkedin - davidearlburch
